AIDS PRAYER SERVICE

The Cleveland Catholic Diocese will host a "Service of Prayer and Healing in response to the AIDS Crisis" on June 20..

Bishop Anthony J. Pilla will preside at the service, which will include readings, prayers, and songs as well as an address by the bishop.

The service will be held 'at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist at East Ninth Street and Superior Ave. It starts at 7:30 p.m.

Vigil Also Organized The Health Issues Task) force and The Eleanor Roosevelt Gay Political Club have scheduled a pre-service vigil in the Diocese courtyard at 6:45 p.m.

Dignity Statement Dignity/Cleveland announces, "We encourage all citizens of the Cleveland community to attend and participate in this service as a time of prayer and remenbrance for those who suffer with AIDS."

The Cleveland gay and lesbian community has been integrally involved in caring for those members of our community who are afflicted by this devastating disease. This need for involvement is being shared by others in the Cleveland community in a united response of Christian compassion. Please join us at this service on June 20."

Following the Prayer Service Dignity/Cleveland its friends will host a reception in the Chancery Lobby.

Parades will again climax Lesbian/Gay Pride Week the end of June. The 1986 Midwest Lesbian/Gay Pride Parade in Columbus June 29 is organized by Stonewall Union of Columbus. Parade title this year is Forward Together.
